Dear Esteemed Colleagues,

I am deeply grateful for the dedication and passion of our predecessors and members, whose tireless efforts have elevated our society to its current standing.

Our Society was founded as the Breast Cancer Research Group in 1996 and officially launched as the KBCS in 1999. Since then, it has grown into a multidisciplinary society with 2,000 members, achieving remarkable progress in academic activities, research, education, patient support, and international collaboration. Notably, the Global Breast Cancer Conference (GBCC) has become the largest breast cancer meeting in Asia and and serves as a hub for the global breast cancer research network, being recognized as one of the world’s top three breast cancer conferences, with over 5,600 participants from 64 countries in 2025.

As we approach our 30th anniversary, we are committed to expanding global academic networking and collaboration to further advance academic development. We will continue to support our members’ research and clinical trials, promote academic exchange, and foster a vibrant and inclusive community.

I invite all of you to join us in our mission to advance breast cancer research and care worldwide. Your continued support, engagement, and partnership are vital to our shared success.

Wishing you health, happiness, and continued achievement.

Sincerely,

President, KBCS
Tae Hyun Kim, MD, PhD
